I’m Laura and I’m an artist and teacher inspired by a sense of place. Through mixed media drawings and collage I aim to capture the essence of a place, its people, history and culture. After spending 2 weeks in Cyprus College of Art as an Undergraduate student, learning more about the identity of the island and drawing the landscape, I became obsessed with linear drawings and collage that helped me make sense of everything I had experienced.
Since then, I have worked abroad in France as a teacher and freelance artist; experimenting further in how to record a sense of place in a world that is already heavily documented through images and social media. Now settled in East Yorkshire, England, I am intent on sharing the reality of travel and tourism today, while also celebrating the diversity and beauty of our world.
